I really shouldn't write blog posts when I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out.
How is it that a few words can be so hurtful?
Do I take things too much to heart? Perhaps.
I know every family has it's ups and downs. And I know that there are people out there who are going through so much worse if not more.
But how many times can I only be one parent's daughter? What kinda conception does that make me? Or did the stork just drop me off?

Where I Am Going...
To Hell! For my thoughts!*
Because how can that girl have a fiancé and I don't?! She's rotund, short and has an OK face. Her personality isn't that sparkling and sure, she's a nice person but how can she have one and I don't?!
And why do most of the guys (I want to notice me) not notice me?!
Yeah, Hell awaits me. If only because I'm coveting what I don't have!
*Disclaimer: I'm just feeling sorry for myself and will get over it! I don't mean to offend anybody!

A Memory
This time last year - this post reflected how I felt.
Today, I am not even caught up in throes of St Valentine's day.
It only saddens me because S and I shared our first date and our first kiss but what will be will be!
Happy Valentine's day to all! :)
*A lil' more of that Scrumpy free loving!

What I Didn't Mean to Start!
So this post led to this post which leads to this post! Clearly I wasn't being mental - I'm apparently quite normal it seems. And it seems that most of the Kottu girlies seem to have similar (and impeccable) taste!
I guess I should expose those that make me go *swoon*!
These are in no particular order and there will be no scoring system so you don't need to figure out who I have the most hots for (though some of you may already know!)!
Ian S: Because he is hot! And he was the first (and to date only) blogger that I have met in person. He's so polite, well travelled and has good stories. Did I mention that he's hot?!
Dili: He's 6'0". There is nothing more to be said. But I like the way he writes and he's always been very nice to me. He's also gone missing! :(
Kalu: Here's a guy that channelled a new concept for a blog. He used his initiative - attractive. And he's sooooo polite! He comes across as such a gentleman and I have no doubt that he is anything less. I know I said I wouldn't be too specific but he is definitely one of my favourites!
Gehan: My very first blogging crush type thingy. It was and still is the voice. I remember it oh so clearly..... He writes well but that kinda took a back burner once I heard him!
Jack Point: Like the others say - tall, dark and handsome (modest too!) - I think some of his posts are awesome. I regularly read his blog though I don't think he knows I exist.... *sigh*
N: He works with porn (or something along those lines)! And he takes awesome photos (not of the porn like stuff but like this) and that does things for me (the awesome photos not the porn.....)
Confab: I'm pretty sure he plays the guitar (HOT) but even if I'm wrong, his posts come across with the right sense of well balanced, not too cocky yet confidently attractive.
The Whackster: One of my favourites (there, I said it!). Sorry ladies, definitely don't want to step on any toes but I agree wholeheartedly (if not a bit too much) with this one. My words can't do him or his blog justice. *swoon*
Java - I very rarely understand some his posts (sorry!) and this just makes him all the more attractive (what can I say - I'm glutton for punishment!). I'm sure I could learn a lot from Java.....
Poet: Because he makes fun of my Tamil and because he and Sach knew who I was a lil' early on. And his blog is so random with the cricket, The Bard and the heavy metal that I absolutely love reading it!
The Newbies: Guys, I have only recently started reading your blogs (apologies but since I got a new job I just don't have time!). So even if I've mentioned you in the next couple of sentences - you definitely have an admirer in me!
The Unsilent: Everything about your blog screams hottie at me. I think it's the whole mysterious thing and you write so well!
Jerry: Because his blog is so random and.... Well it's just so random. I love the fact that you write what you feel without giving it a second thought. That's what it's about - hottie! Though youngie!
Paparé Boy: The fact that you used an accented e (é) turns me on like you wouldn't believe! And you like Calvin and Hobbes. How awesome is your taste?!
MyPrerogative: You're hot. It's as simple as really. You like the Emirates, you're hot, you have an awesome war cry, you're hot and I really want to find you in that bar! You're too young but definitely HOT!
OK - so now that I have named half of the blogosphere, exposed how much of a floozy I am and that I give a hell of a lot of free loving (it's all good baby!) - I shall go hang my head in shame for all of 5 minutes!

Fundraising
I guess most of the readers know I'm Tamil. And I know that there are a lot more people out there that are better equipped to write about the war. That's not what I'm going to do. I just wanted to share something that I'm quite proud of - not for any kind of glory but because it was so much more successful than I anticipated.
We all know what the situation is like back home; some more than others. But there's only so much protesting can do.
Every time I log onto FB, I've been invited to some other rally and some other protest and whilst I agree that there does need to be some kind of International Community involvement - even if it is just to highlight the situation more (some people I work with don't even know that SL exists, let alone what's happening there!), what difference has it really made?!
So A decided he wanted to raise some money. Host a charity event. So between A, R (who will maybe feature more in this blog as time goes on) and myself, we decided to go for it. A few ideas were thrown about and in the end we decided to have a charity auction. But not just random stuff for auction. We decided to auction off "dates" (yeah, it kinda borders on prostitution but not quite!)! This was all decided on 28/01/09 (you'll see why I'm telling you the dates a bit later) and by that Friday we had a venue and a date for the event to take place - 04/02/09. That gave us exactly 5 days for us to market the event, get people who were willing to be auctioned, get restaurants to sponsor the dates and choose a charity. A charity that was preferably on justgiving so we didn't have to handle large donations. That weekend was spent marketing it on FB (you gotta love it!), me making frantic telephone calls to friends calling in all kinds of favours as well as promising all kinds of favours (get your minds out of the gutter - nothing sexual!).
A has me down as a bit of a wordsmith - well, when I am compared against him. So I sent out a whole load of emails, messages and wrote the fundraiser page synopsis. Wednesday arrived as quick as we had thought of the idea and I spent most of the day running around finding stuff to collect the money in. Arriving at the venue (a bar lounge provided free to us), I set about creating the scene. I put the names of the restaurants into envelopes so those being auctioned off could choose.
And slowly people started to wander in - the after work crowd comprised of faces familiar and some of those not so familiar. I would have been happy if 20 people turned up but by the end of the evening I reckon at least 90 people had passed through the doors.
A was the comperé and thus began the auctioning. It wasn't a normal auction. We set a bid increment which happened to be £5. Whenever you bidded, you only put in the £5 and the last person to bid would win the date. Thus, you could bid 4 times and spend £20 but your last £5 might have won you the date. We thought that this would work better than one person having to fork out £60/£70 and surprisingly it did... On the night, we raised £1981! For something that was arranged within a week, I'm so pleased that it worked out. Currently our total stand at just over £3500 with online donations and an employee charity fundraising scheme.
For some of those people that this war is more than the marches, the protests, the sitting in comfy offices preaching or dictating - hopefully it'll make some difference.
Not just who I am - but a part of what I am.

Edited to Add
I've had a busy few days what with the whole of London coming to a standstill, organising and having a charity fundraiser and getting a date (!) - it's been tough.
All the blogging will be done over the weekend (hopefully) but this post, it's the same as when you (well, me anyway) read the blogs of some of the female bloggers and you can't help but wish you were their friend because they seem so damn cool!
And the more blogs I read, the more hotter guys seem to be out there... *swoon*

A Complete Standstill
It's amazing that in this day and age that this can still happen! I mean - it doesn't happen in Canada and they get an infinite amount of it.
I woke up this morning to a good 4 inches of snow and it's still falling.
It's crazy because I can't get to work. In fact, no one I know can get to work. The buses have come to a standstill, there are limited train services, tubes that have overground stops are suspended and the roads are gridlocked.
I guess, we'll have to see how it goes but at least I can go and play in the snow now.
I'll post some pictures in a lil' while (snowman and all!).
For those in England - enjoy! :)
